There's no way you can store addresses in the car with iDrive 6 apart from your own home address. Not sure if 7.0 is different.
I find app to be the best route for entering any address. When you are in the car and the phone is connected, any address you enter goes straight into navigation. Saves you from entering addresses through iDrive controller which takes time and voice control that is hit & miss on recognising voices.
