I've been looking for the green anole lizard in my back yard, but he's nowhere to be found lately. I did spot his cousin, a brown anole, on my front sidewalk earlier today. This one is about 6 inches long including the tail.
The thing under his chin is called a dewlap and is used to attract females, or as a territorial display, as in "get off my sidewalk".
