I'd go for the Z4 because its a BMW... though the MINI is also a subsidiary of BMW.
Also, don't forget to count in depreciation since you're comparing used with new... buying a reliable used car usually means saving money because you're buying it at a lower price and the price doesn't depreciate as much as a new car (in terms of percentage)
But i think you will have much fun with either car...
