Speaking of ordering a G30, do we know for certain whether the 530s and 540s ordered now and delivered in the U.S. before September will be 2017 model-year cars?
I ask because we now know that M550i's delivered in April will be 2018s, and it will make a significant difference in depreciation to those who buy the first of the 530s and 540s if their new cars are titled as model-year 2017. I realize the model-year issue is irrelevant to those who lease cars, but the model-year will be a significant issue to those who buy their cars or order them in February, receive those cars mid-summer, and those cars then become a model-year older come September.
Put another way, I don't have a problem waiting an additional three months to order a car if I know I can avoid a year's depreciation by doing so.
Edit. My question was answered here:

Pretty much as I expected, U.S. buyers of 530s & 540s would be well-advised to wait a few months to allow them to order 2018s.
