One note id make is if you want the M550 this is the last year to get it. Overall its not bad on gas all things considered (21-25mpg is what i get). Also just my 2 cents is if you can afford to buy it you shouldn't be concerned about gas mileage. The m550 is substantially faster than the 540. Its a great compromise between performance and comfort.
