Let me revise my previous question. Apparently DOT has issued a ruling that says BMW's type of remote-control parking is legal in the US and never has been illegal. BMW just assumed it was illegal. Now, even though BMW has confirmation that it is allowed in the US, they still haven't decided when they will introduce it here. Could it be they're waiting for a model year change? Maybe they won't introduce it in the US until the 2018 model?
Laser lights (with reduced power/range) are coming but I'm not sure exactly when and on which models.
