In addition to the previous suggestions, something else that will help is to set the focusing system to 3D Tracking (as opposed to single point servo or continuous). This will allow you to lock focus on one subject and keep it locked until you release the shutter.
If you haven't already thought of it, set the dial to CH (burst mode) and don't be afraid to fire off 10+ shots at a time. Even if 9 of them are bad, it only takes 1 to be awesome.
