For my Mother in-law's Kia they had the sales tax .25% higher than it should be. I had to prove it using my phone on the IL Dept of Rev website. They looked surprised and fixed it. My attorney said I should have paid it and then launched a class action suit against them since they were probably doing it to all customers and then pocketing the extra .25% (which can certainly add up!). |
In my past experience this type of overage was refunded to me once they registered the car.
