Engine replacement is one thing but replacing a new faulty engine with an old refurbished one on what is still a new car is a CRIME!
Waiting for the LCI sometimes doesn't work because BMW may change the engine for the LCI... For example, the M550i is expected to get a new version of the V8 engine with many changes, so what do you do then? Wait a couple more years? Then it gets close to the end of the model, and the next car will have yet another engine...
