I don't agree, and this isn't specific to G30, it's most/all?? new BMW models.
I think it's disturbing that team of well educated/paid designers (and executives who approved it) couldn't come up with better solution than this "glued on" look which seems common in few luxury brands now. In my opinion it's quite ugly
(very subjective, I know).
If you are a designer who didn't "graduate" from 2 day Internet course somewhere, you just have to find better solution than this. Volvo/Infinity/Jaguar and few Accura/Lexus models got solution that just look better integrated into the dashboard (based on my limited google image search)
