I've been following the progress of the new 5 series very closely as a replacement for my F31 335d. Given that my ultimate model (an AWD M5 Touring) will not exist and the M5 development cars show the option of a deployable towbar (I still want the ability to be able to tow my Caterham to trackdays), I had concluded the following in descending order of preference:
1: M5 - But only if an AWD option is available the UK.
..If not..
2: M550i xDrive Touring – Looks like this isn’t going to be available in the UK though.
..If not..
3:M550d xDrive Touring – I’m hoping this will make it to the UK (perhaps BMW should bring it to the UK in Touring only, especially if the M5 remains RWD & Saloon only as that should put enough distance between them).
Just my hopes and thoughts.
