I don't see the point why they would have changed the shape of the body for the LCI lights, that would only cause more changes into the manufacturing process. Though i guess nowadays anything is possible to stop retrofitting stuff.
New pinout is easily changed which was the retrofit case in the older models. Might even try this myself included, when the first lci's get blasted to pieces and are sold for parts.
