It will be a HUGE step up from you XTi. If you're not big into video (battery) and you haven't been frustrated with the focusing of you Canon, then I say, "Go for it." I suspect that you'll be very happy with the II.

Thanks. I forgot to mention I'm also thinking of getting the 80D. Comparing between the A7ii, which sounds more appealing to you? Going for the same price right now.
