As usual, there are a couple more factors to consider:
My dealer informed me they actually don't have any available build slots for another 2022 M850 convertible, so it's either this one or I will really have to wait more than a couple of months...
The lease is up on my M550 in August, but they will buy me out early and are giving me a discount off this car. But if I wait until a build slot becomes available, I will most likely be out of a car for a few months as it will be well beyond August before they can even place the order.
None of these mean I need to make a final commitment now, but as you can see it is advantageous for me to act now. Other dealers are not making me this kind of offer structure...believe me, if this was a slam dunk (i.e. carbon black) I would be posting pictures of it in my driveway already.

There is another option to get the carbon black right now. It's called a wrap. Just planting a seed. You can thank me later.
