If this is anywhere near true, there has to be some serious weight reduction if the 5-Series is going to be sharing the 6-Series and 7-Series platform. We know that the GXX 7-Series is going to incorporate CFRP and the estimated weight savings seems to pretty significant but right now, the F10 is about 4300 pounds so if they're going to throw a 3-cylinder with 150HP, the next generation 5-Series should ideally be well below 4000 pounds.
