Yea I don't think they fell apart also. You could say Ferrari had the faster car all year but couldn't put it together for a full race weekend, several team/driver failures/mistakes in the first half. So even with the lesser car Mercs have been getting more out of them atleast in the first half.
Should be an interesting finish to the season, hopefully we see some great racing.

As a whole package, the Mercedes has been a better car this season though. The Ferrari is (at least was up until this weekend) faster only in a straight line.
Analysis from earlier this year showed that Ferrari was losing quite a bit of time in slow and mid speed corners compared to the Mercedes (more than they were gaining in outright speed on the straights).
