Honestly the funny thing is the overall True Cost would be cheaper to buy a 1M. all other "normal" BMWs depreciate 40-50% in 3 years. A 1M won't depreciate that much. Especially if you have a fully loaded one.
The TT-RS is more unique and doesn't trade for as much second hand. If I'd actually bought the 1M Coupe new for $48k, I'd be happy about it, but at the current prices, I just wouldn't touch one.

Having owned an earlier M Coupe that held it's value extremely well, but there certainly comes a point where that inflated value corrects itself very quickly, and I think the M2 release will likely represent that point for the 1M Coupe.
