About $450/yr for the X5 and the same for the Z4. $100k/$300k, $500 deductible. Wifey's Civic (her choice of car, not mine) is slightly less. We have our homeowner's through the same company, so we get decent rates. Insurance is cheap in downstate IL. We'd be paying 3x that on each car back in MA.

And as far as wasting money on low deductibles, in our case going to $1000 would have made very little difference in our yearly costs. Wifey just had a fender bender in a parking lot and they split the blame, so her deductible really came to $250 (some weird IL law). If we had had a $1000 deductible, it would have been $500. Having the deductible that high would not have saved us $500 in insurance payments even after all these years.
