That would be one insane modification. Just off the top of my head, some components that you'll surely need are:

New Engine/Transmission + all bolt on parts
New Computers/Modules (probably REALLY expensive)
Hydraulic Steering components
Complete rear suspension overhaul (control arms, hubs, etc. -- mostly shared with the M3 CSL)
Front Suspension
New rear differential and probably a new driveshaft
New Brakes
relocate battery to inside trunk to make room for dual exhaust
Front bumper
Rear Bumper
Hood
Wheels
Taillights (probably need some rewiring)
Not to mention full interior.
+ a bunch of little bits and pieces that I did not think of.

The modified Z4 from Hartge tuning had a V8 swapped in it with some minor cosmetic and suspension work, and costs well over $100,000, just to give you an idea.

I say anything is possible, but it's about resources and cost that will bite you in the end.
