It all pales to insignificance when you know that cosworth built and tested a 1.5L V8 in the old days of turbo F1, with... 2013hp. Cylinder pressures so high it blew the ceramic out of spark plugs...then the electrode out of the ceramic. Exhaust turbines directly driving the crank. 8 bar of boost through the intercoolers, then restricted to meet the 4 bar regulation maximum entering the engine.
Any and all road car engines are lazy as hell. But then, it's good to have an engine which lasts more then a couple of hours.
