Agree completely. I think ppl don't like the look until they live with a car that has the "ipad" look. It is wayyyy better ergonomically. Allows you to have a more open feeling and takes so much weight out of the dash that your eye is drawn to, whether the actual windshield is larger or not doesn't matter but the feel of looking out of the car is increased rather than having something in the foreground for your eye to ignore.
My favorite example of this is the current gen Mazda 6. The same car with a new interior for 2016+. After driving a friends 2015 and a rental 2016 the visual affect of removing so much plastic from the dash is startling when you drive it around for more than an hour.
I like Audi's way of doing it the best where you can still retract the screen but if it's the old way or the "ipad in dash" way i'll now be choosing the latter until something better comes along (Audi Virtual Cockpit hint hint)
