Today's rotors start out relatively thin compared to those of decades past. Usually rotors are just replaced as they are not terribly expensive (although BMW may charge a fair amount for them). If they were in fact turned by the dealer you might want to get them mic'd to make sure they are within spec. I would assume that a dealer would do this but one never knows. If rotors are too thin they are more likely to warp. --Bob
