Update on my situation where my trial expired on January 14th (last week): I called BMW assist again today and they confirmed that my subscription is active indefinitely even though it shows as an available option in the portal.
Some people are showing a 20 year extension, others are seeing it as an option even though it's already active. Since mine was a trial and never a paid subscription, it will never show the extension on the portal.
Moral of the story? It's still working just fine.
