My current summer tires are 275/30 R20 on my 2018 540i X-drive M sport.

However I've been shopping on BMW sites (Canada) and other sites for winter tires but these are the only ones I see available:
245/45 R18
245/40 R19

Is this because it's unsafe for 20" tires and wheels during the harsh winters? The bigger sizes look better but if that's sacrificing safety then I don't mind going down to 19".
