These third party ones work fine.... But if bmw need to update your software, there's a very good chance they won't coz you've messed with the software. Lesson  |
I had no trouble getting my firmware updated with widescreen CarPlay; however, I had to reapply it after the update as the firmware update reset the entire head unit.
You are definitely right about applying CarPlay itself.
