I doubt she killed her husband; did she profit from his disappearance? Absolutely. Just like she profits from her rescue business, duping thousands of suckers. She's a con, but not a murderer.
Re husband, my guess he was involved in illegal activities - drugs trafficking most likely, hence his profits from everything,- and crossed somebody's path.
