I have the same issue with the Spotify app from time to time. Usually a phone reboot helps. I haven't dug in due to the Spotify/BMW app not working well to begin with and the HUD always showing "loading". And mine is a recent build 2019.
Also try this:
Click the globe icon on the dash next to preset #7.
Highlight Connected Drive and click Options.
Click Update BMW Assist
Also click Login to connect to your Connected Drive account.
See if this resolves the issue.
