So you're saying the headlight housing is a grill that connects to the headlights... right. I'm not surprised that this is dealership logic

The portion between the kidneys is not a continuation of the headlights. That is the housing of the radar or sonar or whatever is used for adaptive cruise and other driver assistance features.
