Newbie considering my first Bimmer... Need HELP!

Hello gents...
GREAT forum. I have learned quite a bit already in a day here!

Here's my deal... I am turning 40 and treating myself to my first Bimmer, a 2006 330i. The car is loaded with sports package, cold package, Nav, Sirius etc. It has 25K on it and the dealer is asking 23.9K. It is immaculate and looks to have been pamapered.

About my driving habits - I am in sales, drive 20-25K per year almost entirely highway (I-95). I am looking to use this car as a "luxury business car" to enjoy the amenities. I drive lightly, usually 75 or so on the highway. "Performance driving" is not important to me. (I know I know... go easy on me!)

Here are my concerns that are keeping me up at night:

1. Tires - The car has "newer" tires ( I am assuming the 2nd set) which are run-flats, 225/45/17. The dealer claims the backs have 3/32" and fronts 1/4" tread on them. They have given me the option of swapping with a set of high-performance all-season tires which I am strongly considering. Thoughts and opinions?

2. Weather - I have read that these RWD cars are not good at all in any bad weather. How "not good" would this car be with a good set of AS tires? Any issues in heavy rain as well? Does the traction control help considerably? I'd rather not have to have a set of winter/snow tires and have to swap every November.

3. Common issues/concerns with this model - Are there any common problems I should be absolutely certain the car hasn't had/does have? Is it "proper" to ask for a CarFax report from the dealer or should I just pony up and buy one on my own?

4. Warranty - The car has the balance of the 4/50 warranty. What does this cover and not cover? Should I negotiate for the 100 CPO now or wait? Any opinions on after-market warranties?

5. Gas mileage - From what I have read, the car should get 22 in city and 30 on highway if one drives relatively lightly. Is that correct?

Any other adviceor opinions any of you can give would be greatly appreciated. I am going down on Friday to either drive home in this beauty... or my old car.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Todd
