Maybe to you. And you may just be in the minority. To me and many others, the e39 was the last aesthetically good looking 5er. The current F10 looks "blah", it just has this generic look to it. The e39, e34, e28, e12 all have an iconic look to them that set them apart on the road. Starting with the e60, it seems (to me and others) it has gone down hill.
Hopefully, the G30 can fix that. Because as it stands, the E Class, GS, A6, CTS have stepped it up.
