There's a DIY guide here regarding the mirror-tap with detailed pics and instructions. I utilized it to do the installation. The radar is good out of the box but go through the menu options as it has features specific to certain areas that may be applicable depending on where you live.
Radar is very quiet ... best in class BSM filtering so when it makes noise slow down, chancea are the threat is real.
