Unfortunately, I can not compare with HK or BW, but it plays awesome. Since the speakers used are high quality, the sound they produce is very very good. Some could argue they want lower bass (and my amp does have one spare channel if I need to add an active subwoofer) but I am really content. I really do not need any adjustment of bass/treble, etc. The trick, however, is in the DSP setup. That needs to be done individually in every car since every car has different speakers, upholstery, etc. My car was tuned using a comp with a measuring mic, using pink noise generator, etc. After all adjustments the soundstage (I am using hi-res music on FLAC files) is near perfect. It is not a concert on your dash, but this is close.
