Kimi and Robert were basically(there was other cars that didn't stop) tied for first at the end of the pits, waiting for the green light.
They were going to have a drag race down pit exit, when the kid smashed into Kimi. Hamilton would have been in what was basically 3rd place if that didn't happened.

I think Hamilton was trying to time the green light & slip past them at the exit.
He just fvcked up, plain & simple.
what makes it worse is he gets a grid penalty for the next race.
This could very well cost him any chance at the drivers championship.
