I agree on all of this. Yes, the new G60 has newer tech but I don’t find it as attractive as my 2023 G30 540i. I too had seen what the new changes were in store for the G60 and in December 2022 I placed an order for my ideal everyday 540i. Skyscraper Gray with Cognac Sensatec interior. I opted for Sensatec as it will look better in 5 years vs what the leather would look like. I choose the Sport model as it comes with the standard passive suspension and it has a perfect blend of firm with a plush feeling when riding over road irregularities. It came with the 19” wheels and tires but I ordered a set of brand new OEM style 632 through a BMW parts department as well as a BMW approved Michelin Primacy Touring none runflat tires in order to obtain 45 profile tires vs the stardard 40 profile runflat tires, which in my opinion gives the ride a more refined quality bringing it closer to an older school 5-series E39 in terms of isolation and not having to cringe when driving on less than perfect road surfaces.

Also, 2023 was the last year for a true rear wheel drive inline-6, 5-series as the G60 has gained about 200-300 lbs and will come with xDrive if you want the B58 inline-6 motor.

The G30 will be seen as one of the last great 5-series from BMW that has kept its roots as close as possible to the traditional 5-series shape it was well known for.

Below are a few pics of my baby.
