I think its because it disturbs the refinement as there is a slight shudder as the car restarts. It is certianly better on my 540i compared to my previous f10 530d but it is there. There is also that slight delay and perception that the car is not as teady to go compared to when the engine is running.
I don't think anyone is denying it saves fuel although I don't think it is much in the grand scheme.
I certianly turn it off on my car and ideally Ibwould like it to default to off but that is not going to happen in the EU as they want the best emissions they can get in the official tests. |
