As of yet, no one has found coding to successfully extend the hands off time, or to extend the length of the stop and go time without having to press the resume button or the pedal.
There is a device out there that mimics the touch steering wheel, which was originally designed for retrofitting the Traffic Jam Assist on the i3 and the older model X5. However, since it tricks the car into thinking you are touching the steering wheel at all times, if the system were to disengage, you would not get the audible warning to alert you to take over. As LogicalApex said above, not worth the risk to yourself or others IMO.
