Higher profile tires
That is exactly what I put on my 2018 540x. It came with 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 but with the horrible potholes around here both front tires developed bubbles. I went up one aspect ratio to 245/40/20 and 275/35/20 and the ride is better and potholes don't feel like you just drove off the end of the road. Personally, I wouldn't go up any more. These seem to fit well and I think they look better.
