You're buying a 530e? Be sure to grt an extended warranty or plan to sell it before end of warranty. These cars have far too many electronic modules and the "e" versions are just way more complicated. Repair bills will be off the charts if you have to pay for post warranty repairs.
Another alternative, mine, is to get "mechanical breakdown insurance" from GEICO (you must be getting your auto insurance from them). It will cover up to seven years, 100K miles with a $250 per occurance copay. Covers essentially everything covered by the original BMW warranty. Cost is a pittance compared to a BMW extended warranty contract.
