The auto-pilot is legal restriction.
When you remove the hand after 5 sec appear a warning and after other 20 sec the warning is red end the semi-pilot terminate.
I thinks that there is a coding for this two timeout.

It's not only a legal restriction. L2 semi-autonomous cars are only capable of operating within certain parameters. As an example, there's a maximum radius after which the autonomous system cants turn the wheels.
Once cars get to L3 like the Audi, that allows people to take their hands off completely.
