I did find it extremely difficult to remove the clips from the back of the bumper as shown on first photo. What worked for me is the following.
Push-in the clips as shown on the Photos #2 FIRST (not easy I agree), Once the top part is relatively loose, then you can simply wiggle back and forth and with gentle force trim comes off.
