Rear seat removal

I am trying to install a rear seat cover to protect it from my dog for a long upcoming trip. The tubes that are supposed to tuck between the bottom of the back seat and the bottom of the upright of the back seat crack is a little too large of diameter. I was wondering if there was a way to either lift the bottom or the back in order to fit it in the crack? 2020 M550 Leather.
