Well originally my car was going to be here week 21...
I then changed my order and it was put back to week 24 - my fault for changing I guess.
Checked again today and now the expected time for production is week 35
Delivery won't be until around week 38/39
They can't tell me why.

It happened to the F15 X5 on the first year of production too.
That's why I don't like ordering car, especially since I don't keep it long.

What engine have you ordered? I placed in Feb 540i xdrive and it should have been produced and delivered in May. Today dealer said that he is going to "pray" for production in July and delivery July/Aug.

Just kidding guys I really feel your pain. I hope they did not find something horrible to fix that us "lucky" ones are going to have to brace themselves for...
One thing I don't understand though, is that these cars would appear to be past the end of 2017 production. Maybe you missed 2017 and you got re-added to the 2018 queue...? not sure that is even logical/legal so just speculating here.

I placed my order in the end of march and my car is due next weekend, that makes no sense your car is not completed yet. I am guessing they might have some back ordered parts.

I have a different problem, my car was scheduled to arrive in week 21, but today they called me and told me that the car is on the truck and arriving today!

Maybe they are missing certain parts to build the car depending on what options you got. My friends m4 got delayed a few times because they did not have the carbon fiber roof available.

Online genius. I called my dealer and told them. Dealer is now trying to sort it. If my car is delayed then my order will be cancelled.

540iX ...Ordered Mid April...I knew it all sounded too good!

Ask dealer for a screenshot of the order page, which shows the estimated dates for production, delivery etc....then you will have all the facts at your fingertips.

Providing the original order hadn't progressed past 1100 then adding or removing options shouldn't affect the build date.

My first F10 went back 4 weeks on the original dates , which I eventually found out was because they had a shortage of the diesel twin turbo engines, which had just been launched, as the demand for these for X5 and X6 had been greater than expected....I suspect there's a shortgage of something that is making your build date slip, but you will have to push your dealer to get him to investigate.

I have all the info I need unfortunately. Estimated production date is now week 35. Previously this was week 19/20. It's not changed because of altering the spec although at the moment they can't tell me why. My dealer finally called today and said there are issues getting the 40i engines. Apparently there are strikes happening at BMW and this could affect supply. He said the engines were built here in the UK.
My dealer will investigate more on Monday and update me then. I've asked him to come back to me with options. I will then decide whether or not to keep my order in place.
It's not his fault though. He's caught in the middle I guess and he sounds like he's doing as much as possible to sort it.
At the end of the day it's only a car. The pain for me now is having the time to find a new one due to work commitments.

It reminds me mine. He started answering after I said that concidering cancel+moneyback. but yours contacted you with it, mine not, mine did it only in time my credit bank pushed him.
