I checked both the German factory and re-finish supplier databases

I believe Cerium Grey an electrolysed metallic coating as opposed to a paint.

It may well be on the grill and trims.....but what about the wheels?

this is worrying. Given the matte finish, these trim pieces can't be polished to remove scratches. And if it's not even a paint, it makes repair even more impossible. So I guess the only way to fix things is to replace it. For trim pieces that might make sense, but not for the wheel...
