2019 M Sport. Is there a difference b58

Ill be getting my "19" 540MSport this week. I looked up the Vin and motor is listed as B58M, is there a difference between the B58 & B58M??? Or it's just status thing since it's in a MSport?

I don't know so this is just a guess, is to signify a particulate filter perhaps which I think are on the newer cars?

Mine is a June 2017 build and it says B58M too when i check VIN

I have a June 2018 build and it is also a B58M.

Mine however is not a 540iM.

Both my 440i and X3 M40i have the same engine designation of B58M weird.

But back on the B58M, I guess we're the lucky ones with M status motors.
