Lowering 545e advice
After searching lots of threads having never lowered a car before, I am looking to buy some Eibach lowering springs and spacers (20% sale on fyi) for my 545e Xdrive M sport. It has adaptive suspension, 20” OEM wheels with run flats, 275/30/R20 rear and 245/35/R20 front.
There is only one set of springs listed for my car (Pro Kit, not Sportline) which says it will drop 30mm at front and 25mm rear. Am I ok to just replace the springs, or do I need to swap anything else? (hoping not) I am planning on 10mm spacers front and 12mm rear (going for a subtle change rather than full flush / aggressive)…. I assume I will also have to purchase new studs? Looked at Dinan but my car isn’t listed and would rather purchase from the UK to save shipping costs… Keen to hear from those of you with experience, if you think this would be ok or could advise if I am about to make a big mistake! Thanks in advance (It is a leased company car which I am hoping the company will purchase at the end of it, but that’s not a given, so I don’t want to throw thousands at it.) |

I also changed the strut top mounts when replacing the springs on my old 540i.
It's a pain in the ass to replace the rear springs anyway, so I wanted to avoid any unwanted noises from the old mounts. You can opt for 12mm front and 15mm rear spacers. It's not aggresive, just right. I was using H&R spacers. PN: B55664-12 and B55664-15 12F 15R before lowering on H&R springs ![]() After lowering: ![]() ![]() Last edited by Edi; 06-19-2025 at 07:55 AM.. |
