Carplay navigation with idrive navigation simultaneously

Hi,

I clearly remember that it was possible to have internal navigation and carplay navigation running simultaneously in my old 2019 G30.

Now it's not working anymore in my brand new G31.

Thoughts on this? Any chance to make it work again?

Never worked like that in 2017 which is the same iDrive as 2019. Either bmw or CarPlay map.
You still can find direction in carplay and send it to your map so it's visible on HUD though.

If you start BMW Navigation first you can get it to do both. But if you start first with CarPlay BMW maps will refuse to allow navigation.

At least on iDrive 7 “lite”.

How do you send car play destination to bmw say nav?

After you select destination, before selecting go, there is a share button that sends it to BMW map

It's there, a little box with an up arrow. Even if you hit the share button, it still will not run both simultaneously. Once you hit Share in Apple Maps, it launches the car's navigation.

Definitely not there on mine… can you send a picture of your screen and idrive version…

Does this share the Apple Maps/Google Maps routing to the destination or just the destination and then idrive determines it's own routing? Often it would be the same, but I've found idrive sometimes routes differently.

Just the destination to iDrive and then the BMW navigation takes over.
