Yesterday, an old mercedes backed into my 5 series. Fortunately there was a witness who stopped the driveaway. They left a note on the windscreen with a mobile phone number. The witness did too.

Rang the witness who was utterly genuine and a justice seeker. Got the details. Even sent photos. Kind good citizen.

Armed with the info, rang the mobile. False number, of course. Guessed as much with a number starting 000 after the code. Thanks. Not only careless but deceitful too.

Not worth the hassle of insurers.

Fortunately, damage not too bad and buffed out after an hour's work except.....

The tow Hook Cover which was back to bare plastic in places and clear coat removed in a streak.

Easiest fix is to replace. But cannot find an titanium silver (A83) painted cover.

So seeking r wisdom of the collective. Anyone any ideas. Tried online usual sources and breakers.

Part number is 51 127 475 589 in primer

I haven't bought one of these for the G30, but in my past experience, these come unpainted and you need to get them painted. I recommend buying a few, front and back. The autobody shop won't charge you any more for two or three than for one. It's good to have extras on hand.

Here in the states, I am pretty sure you can get companies like IND to source it and paint it for you before shipping.

Good plan. My bodge isn't great using BMW touch up pen, allegedly the correct colour.

A83 is Glacier Silver….not Arctic or Titanium.

Do a google search or amazon.com using BMW A83 GLACIER Silver spray paint to find someone on your side of the pond that sells small cans of spray paint. Don’t buy generic, but buy from someone that will mix a can of paint based on your BMW color code.

You can either buff/sand your existing cover till it’s smooth or buy a new one that is primed, then spray it yourself with multiple light coats of paint until it looks right.

Ive ordered a can of spray paint twice, once for my Sterling Gray X5, and once for my Moonstone Metallic 650ix GC. The paint was an exact match for correcting some bumper scrapes.

Thanks, i get confused as I've had all of those BMW colours and still have the BMW touch up pencils. Bit of a "fleet runs in silver" guy here. However I'm sure i used the correct pencil paint for the jobbie. It's defo A83.

Have had another go and will settle on this until i can () get organised to follow your advice. Strange that the contour of the bumper lets the shading of the cover blend in quite well.

That's a bit better. Wet and dry, primer, base coat x3, lacquer x3.
