Coding device

What is the best device to code with? I have been using Bimmercode but it doesn't do much with the G30 from what I have noticed. It will not open all the modules in the list. I need to be able to shut off the seatbelt chime and a few other things. I have coded for the auto start stop but the coding doesn't seem to work. I just need to know the best option for coding and reading codes and I would also like to turn on sport plus. Let me know what I need. Thanks

Protool has more capabilities, but BimmerCode should be sufficient for things like silencing the seatbelt chime. Here is the full list of BimmerCode coding options for G30: https://bimmercode.app/cars/g30/. I use OBDLink CX with BimmerCode and have never experienced any issue: https://www.obdlink.com/products/obdlink-cx/.

I don’t think BimmerCode and read fault codes, which something he is looking for. You’re right though, BimmerCode can do a ton of coding with a push of the button. The issue is that Bommercode frequently gets locked out of muldes for some reason. A lot of tweaking people do is in the BCD module. If BC can’t get into it, it’s useless.

The OBDII connector I use for Bimmercode, OBD Link-MX, reads codes by itself. That's how I discovered my grill shutter problem recently. --Bob

OBDLink CX has worked perfectly for me. I use BimmerCode Android app; the car is 2023 M550i.
