Pinout or wiring diagram for Comfort Seats

Hello,
I am doing a seat retrofit, and am needing to know which two wires are the CAN bus for my new G30 seats.

The background is that I purchased seats from a donor G30 with VIN WBAJB9C59JB035567

The plan- installing these in my Chevy and using an aftermarket controller from CarSystems.

The controller only requires CAN to communicate with the seat. Other than that, I just need power- which is obvious that the thicker wires are power, but would just need to know which is which for polarity. Plan is to splice downstream of the yellow/black connector.

Just for creed, I will mention that I do own a BMW F25, and I do have ISTA+, but I never can find any wiring diagrams on it... I'm not sure if I have the version with the wiring diagrams or if i just don't know how to look.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Send me PM,
I recently installed comfort seats in a G12, I can help with the wiring.

Need to understand what car these seats are from, G12 or G30.
There have been various wiring diagrams.

I am doing something similar. I have the CarSystems module, and the passenger seat laying on my workbench. Did you figure out which color wires are the CAN? There are two twisted pairs on my seat:

- Yellow/Red & Yellow/Brown: Pins 5 & 6
- Yellow/Black & Yellow/Brown: Pins 17 & 18

I am getting no response from the seat with the CarSystems adaptor.

I can get the seat to move with power and ground directly from my benchtop power supply, but not through the adaptor.

I contacted their support, but its like 2am over there in Ukraine.

Pabloaguas2 Did you ever get it working for you? Was it just power & ground, and the CAN wires?

I really hope this helps someone else in the future, who was like me and could not find anything at all for info on this thing.

What worked for me was NOT using the resistor (even though I have a G12 seat, and the wiring instruction says to use one), as well as connecting pin 1 (top left in my picture) to +12v as well like you do when jumping the seat to control it for ~10 seconds before it shuts off.

I still have the issue of the forward/back adjustment working for only 1 second at a time. From what I have read this is due to the seat thinking the car is actually running, and is a safety feature and will not do this if the car is not running withe +12 switched on?

I will just keep updating this thread with my findings to help future searchers!

Doesn't work #1 image, Does Work #2 image. After you buy from them the sales line goes dark, and they will only reply to you via telegram during "10:00-19:00" Ukrainian business hours.

I get it. But at the same time not even allowing support questions via email to answer the next day, and not responding to questions sent to them during those hours is pretty frustrating.

OP back!

He Y'all, I've been busy and haven't been able to get back to this install until now. Its nice to return to this thread and see all the helpful contributions.

So mine are 2018 G30 seats. The wiring looks very similar to the G12 images that y'all posted, but I have the addition of an extra small red wire- actually it might be orange. Seems to be a slightly different color than the red wire but its very close.

It's probably going to be a week or so before I can actually get these powered up. But for now I thought that I would go ahead and post a photo of my wires coming from the passenger seat. Y'all can let me know if you have any idea which red wire is which.

TY

Lleksam Hi

I ordered 2 controllers. My controllers will arrive at 14th of january via bus driver to turkey and I have to go and pick it up from 450 kms away. Way too shady but is there any other option my friend?

If I could just figure out which red wire is which, I would be on my way!

Well, it seems that the CarSystems guy is successfully selling several items that he has engineered- when I was looking a few months ago, no one had complained about him.

So, if anyone can post a full diagram of the G30 seats it would be awesome! I think what I need is cut off of the image in post #10 above...

Hello guys,

Sooo Ive completed the part where seats working. All seats control are working but however, the heating, ventilation, massage and memory is still a question. How will I do the other functions? Is there anybody who had completed the process?

Pabloaguas2, nice looking bass. Care to elaborate? I recently acquired a Sire Marcus Miller U5 (I have quite short fingers) and love it! Much better sounding than my Gretsch G2220 and easier to play than my Fender (standard scale) Geddy Lee jazz bass. I keep vacillating on whether to sell the Fender or not

Hello guys,

I have completely tested the functionality of the seats, the seat works perfect but my memory heating ventilation and massaging functions are not working. Did you guys had any issues with this?

The seats are connected to a power supply. I will be adding a battery to test its full functionality but I am almost sure this will not solve my problem.

So my question is this.

There 2 more pairs of cables that is the same color as can cables. My seats are G11 front 2 seats. Should I be occupying more than the following cables?

I have occupied:
Pins #5&6 for can communication
Pin #1 for ACC
Positive & Ground for power. Its the same as digitalfusions pictures.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Hey All, hope you don’t mind me joining the conversation here.
Like Lleksam I am using my 2019 g11 seats in a sprinter van.

They drop in relatively easy and offer the bmw comfort I am used to.
On a sprinter thread I was able to find a gentleman in the UK that has engineered a plug n play solution for the g11 seats for sprinters. He hasn’t released the kit yet but he is very clos. I’m told it will be $1500 with armrests and the door controllers from the bmw for heated & cooled seats

I don’t care about the armrests but working/functional seats would be nice

I started with the passenger seat this week and have it installed. He did help me identify that by hooking up BOTH RED WIRES ( one thick & 1 thin) to 12v and the BROWN wire to GROUND, I could get power to seat to move it in the 1 sec increments

I have been successful with that. However, it times out and I have to unplug it for a random period of time (I thought it was 30 seconds, but it seemed often like much more)
Then it will power up again.
I have control of all seat ADJUSTMENTS. But only in the 1 second increment.

Is there a wok around for the 1 second-plug ‘n unplug dilemma? That’s my biggest issue

Then, for heat, AC & massage as some were looking for above, isn’t an additional module needed along with the door controls? Or just relays? I’d be curious to attempt this in the future.

For now I have my 1second adjustments, hope the simple wiring helps someone. If there is a module or switch or plug available, I’d love to chase that and also try to understand a remedy to fix my 1 second increment adjustment issue

Thanks!

My friend Hello,

I understand that your seats only works for 1 seconds and then stops. And I will answer this question accordingly.

First off, I believe this is due to the controller. I have checked the communication messages that canbus controller sends. It is CONSTANTLY sending the messages that are required to control the seats.

One major mistake is the can high/can low cables might be mixed. Seat controlling works with both ways but after some time the controller stops and seats freezes if the cables are wrong way. The can bus protocol sends 2 voltages like morse code and one of them is the inverted of the other one.

I am currently analysing the signals of the controllers. After my analization complete, I will sketch the coding to an arduino and try out arduino as canbus controller.

However I have some problems with my controllers too, in my seats, my seat heating, memory, and ventilation work but my massage function is still not working properly..

For the massage and other stuff; No. You dont need extra controller. The seat controllers are made by continental and it has a controller that has every function. For a %100 working seats, you only have to plug ACC, Ground, Positive, Can High&Low. These 5 cables are enough.

I see that you plugged the 3 connections, ACC, Positive & ground. However I dont understand how you managed to operate the seats without controller. My seats are g11 too but they dont work without controller even for 1 sec.
