Which OBD or ENET cable is better? G series

Hello, my car is g30. I have MHD black, MHD universal, Carly adapters but sometimes I want to connect my car to my computer to learn more. Which obd do you recommend for this? Enet cable will work but if it is going to be an enet cable it would be better if it connects to my phone as well.

I especially want to run applications like ISTA

In my experience, they're all the same. You'll want an Ethernet to USB cable to connect it to a PC/smart phone.

Just my opinion, but I'd avoid Carly. It bricked an FRM in a 3-series I owned. Bimmercode works much better for me, and you have other options in 2025.

Love my Bimmercode, and I use this ENET cable from Amazon on my Windows laptop. I've never tried using a USB-C to Ethernet adapter with it but the reviews may shed some light on that.

The hub is overkill for the OBD-II to Enet cable, but affords much more flexibility for all possible interface to PC/Mac applications. Works on G30 with ISTA.

I run ISTA off a wifi ENET adapter (BimmerUtility adapter to be specific). No need to run wired.
